At 7:19 this morning, Zoe Johanne Marshall was born. Everyone is healthy and doing fine. In the tradition of high speed delivery, we're half expecting Nic, Zoe and Alex to be back home in time for lunch. (That was originlly meant to be humourous, but may indeed turn out to be the case. Likely to be back home today, maybe within hours.) Chris Sandbrook wins the prognostication prize, and we will be visiting him later for an in depth interview. But now we turn to our Fast In, Fast Arrival (FIFA) commentator Alex, for more details:
01:00: Alex passes Teddy's monitor to Doug & Johanne, because Nic's had some sensations, and they might be heading to the hospital soon
06:45: Nic & Alex arrive at hospital
07:19: Zoe Johanne Marshall is born (34 minutes later)
07:32: Alex takes this photo (13 minutes later)
09:32: Zoes gets her first singing WhatsApp msg from Robin and Elliott: "Welcome to the world, Zoe"
09:52: Johanne asks what Zoe's middle name is and finds out that it's Johanne
09:56: rumours start to emerge that Zoe is a ginger - the crowd goes wild...
11:00: Alex lets us know they'll be home around noon
12:15: The Marshalls arrive home, one happy family. Haven't heard ZoJo cry at all since then. Birth weight was 7 pounds 2 ounces, and Nicole's walking around like she's looking for a tennis partner. It's a bit surreal how quick and easy this childbirth thing SEEMS to be.
